Postman , Mail Guard Syllabus Questions Paper pattern 2014

Recently postal department invited online application form for the posts of  postman and mail guard for various postal division / RMS division. Selection for the posts of Postman and mail guard will be strictly based on through the written examination. Each postal department of the posts will conduct there own written examination for the recruitment of postman and mail guard.  Sleeted candidates will be appointed in the pay scale of rs 5200-20200 and grade pay of rs 2000.

EXAMVACANCY.in brought the free study material, question paper pattern and syllabus for the upcoming aptitude test / written exam for postal department postman vacancies.

Written test will carry 100 marks. Minus marking in the aptitude test will not be applicable. Question paper will comprise four parts and each question will be objective type MCQ based.
Question paper pattern and syllabus for postman posts as are follows.

A- General Knowledge (25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each)
Geography, Indian History, Freedom Struggle, Culture & Sports, General Polity & Constitution of India, Economics, General Science, Current Affairs and Reasoning & Analytical ability of 10th standard.

B- Mathematics (25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each)
Number Systems, Computation of whole Numbers, Decimals & Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Average, Discount, Partnership, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Use of Tables & Graphs, Mensuration.

C(i)-English (25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each)
Articles, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Tenses, Verbs, Synonyms & Antonyms, Vocabulary, Sentence structure, Proverbs, Phrases, questions from small passage. Etc

C(ii)- Tamil (25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each)

Questions paper medium will be English and Tamil language. 
Total 2 hour time will be given for attempting the question paper.

Qualifying marks passing cutoff marks for postman / mail guard written exam 2014 – 2015
General candidate : minimum 10 marks in each section and 40 % aggregate
OBC 9 marks section wise and 37 % marks aggregately
SC /ST – 8 marks section wise and 33% aggregately .
