Tamil Nadu public service commission, now going to conduct a state level preliminary examination for the recruitment of Civil Judge via Tamil Nadu State judicial service examination 2014. This examination will be conducted for the recruitment of 162 posts of Civil Judge for different court of Tamil Nadu. Selected candidates will be appointed in the pay scale of Rs. 27,700-770-33,090 - 920 -40450-1080-44770.
According to official Exam calendar, exam schedule issued by TNPSC , Civil judge exam will be held on 18 and 19 October 2014 at various examination center all over Tamil Nadu. Exam will be conducted in two shifts. First shift exam will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and 2nd shift exam will be conducted 2 pm to 5 pm.
Written exam will comprise translation paper, and paper. There will be three question paper for law subject. Detailed exam date and schedule for as are follows

Translation Paper 9.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M.
Law Paper-I 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Date : 19 October 2014
Law Paper-II 9.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M.
Law Paper –III 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Each question paper will carry 100 marks so over all written exam will carry total 400 marks. in the last a personal interview test will be also conducted. Personal interview test will carry 60 marks.
Syllabus of Civil Judge Exam TNPSC
i) Translation Paper: Translation of passages in English into Tamil and Tamil into
English. The passages will be from (1) Depositions, (2) Judgments, and (3)
Documents.
ii) Law Paper – I: The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908; The Code of Criminal Procedure,
1973; The Indian Evidence Act, 1872; Principles of pleading and the Constitution of
India.
iii) Law Paper – II: Framing of issues and Writing of Judgments in Civil Cases.
iv) Law Paper –III: Framing of charges and Writing of Judgments in Criminal Cases.
v) Viva-voce: The candidate's General Knowledge and Knowledge of law, grasp of
Procedural Laws and Principles of Law and his suitability for appointment as Civil
Judge shall be tested.
