Question paper analysis of UPSC Civil Service Exam 24 august
2014
Civil Service General study GS paper 1
Just like previous UPSC also followed the previous year trends.
This time UPSC also asked the conceptual based question for evaluating the conceptual
clarity of the competitors. Those candidates who analyzed previous year
question paper of Civil service they solved questions paper of GS paper 1
without any difficulty. UPSC tested GS aptitude of aspirants. Maximum no of
questions of Civil Service was asked from geography, and ecology & environment
subject. Approximately 27 questions asked fro geography and ecology subject. 21
questions was asked from science and technology subject. Only 17 to 19 questions
was asked from politics and 18 questions was related to economics. Those
aspirants who work hard on geography and ecology subject they will definitely
score good in pre examination. However without attempting question from all subject,
it would be difficult to qualify in pre examination. Question of GS paper of
Civil service examination was very lengthy. Maximum time was consumed in
reading of questions paper. Question was not so easy to understand in single
attempt. Maximum no of questions was asked in manner like two statement
question ad three statement questions. This way of question paper increased the
difficulty of the questions paper. If you scored 85 to 95 marks in the general
study section then I think this score will be a good score for qualifying in
preliminary examination. Well exact cutoff marks for Civil service will be
disclosed during the time of the results declaration and you can also not
predict more accurate cutoff in case of conceptual and factual based questions.
Hence its strongly recommend that if you scored 85 to 95 marks then you qualifying
chances are higher.
UPSC Civil Service question paper analysis of CSAT paper 2
After a lot of chaos of CSAT question of UPSC finally upsc
conducted CSAT paper on old question paper and syllabus. No change was made in Civil
Service Examination. this time CSAT question paper has given new challenges to
aspirant of civil service examination. CSAT paper had heavy bias toward the
reading comprehension. In civil service prelim examination 2014, maximum no of
question was asked from reading comprehension
were bilingual Hindi and English and approximately 8 to 10 question were
asked from reading comprehension Which is asked in English language only. Nature
of these questions was inferential which required a through reading of the passage.
Approximately 5 to 6 questions was asked from decision making. There is no
negative or minus for these questions. Sources are saying that its clearly mentioned
in official notification that there will be question for which differential
marking scheme will be follow. The syllogism question was very difficult.
Those candidates who
work hard on quantitative aptitude section they can easily score very good
marks in this paper. This section is the safest section of the paper. Approximately
40 to 45 question was related to Quantitative aptitude , DI , LR. Question was
also not so much time consuming. Those candidates who solved the question paper
with a good time management strategy they will defiantly score good marks in
CSAT.
